Why are McDonald's portions bigger in America than in the U.K.?

McDonald's is a global brand. Each of the 122 countries we operate in all have different needs, cultures and expectations. This means that portion sizes may vary between countries, as will menu items, interior restaurant designs and packaging. In the U.K. we feel that our portion size is great value for money and can be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet.
