The wait is finally over: Monopoly will return to McDonald’s on 25th August

Drum roll please… after two-and-a-half years, McDonald’s has announced the long-awaited return of MONOPOLY to all restaurants, this time with a VIP twist.
McDonald’s is rolling out the red carpet from Mayfair to Fleet Street, for six weeks starting on the 25th August 2021 customers will have the chance to become a McDonald’s VIP with game pieces appearing on selected menu items .
And what makes it VIP? Well the experience of course, with millions of prizes to be won the wait has been well and truly worth it!
Instant VIP status is a few moves away for 1000 lucky customers with the introduction of the first ever UK McDonald’s VIP Gold Card!
The winners of these Gold Cards will receive the ultimate VIP treatment, not only winning epic bragging rights but the lucky 1000 will also be able to claim a FREE medium meal every week from their local restaurant for a whole 12 months1.
The MONOPOLY at McDonald’s promotion makes its eagerly anticipated return after the game was initially planned to comeback as usual in March 2021 however was postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions and closures. Due to the postponement mid-production, packaging with over 200 million MONOPOLY game pieces had already been printed and dated. McDonald’s, however, has repurposed this packaging with the outdated game pieces to ensure the MONOPOLY promotion could return for customers as soon as it was safe to do so in August.
As the game pieces will include the incorrect expiry dates, McDonald’s is urging customers to check the dates on the McDonald’s website via this link mcdonalds.co.uk/monopoly/news so they don’t lose out on the chance to win one of the extraordinary prizes.

McDonald’s continues to safely re-open for indoor and outdoor dining in line with Government Guidance. Customers can also order via walk-in takeaway, the Drive-Thru, McDelivery and Click & Serve using the My McDonald’s App.
